| Pools and lakes across the region will be swamped with people looking to cool off with temperatures to rise sharply across Victoria after tomorrow. The mercury in the Bendigo region will hit 40 degrees by Friday and hover there until at least Monday. Temperatures in the central, north central and Mallee districts will also soar with Kerang expected to reach 42 degrees on Friday and 43 on Monday. The predicted heatwave has prompted warnings from a variety of agencies including Ambulance Victoria, who warn residents to avoid heat exhaustion by drinking more water.
