Φαίνεται οτι ο Δημήτρης Καζάκης γράφοντας το άρθρο «Στην παγκόσμια κρίση υπάρχει μόνο παγκόσμια λύση;» ενεργοποίησε τις δυνάμεις εκείνες που θεωρούν οτι το σχήμα «ΚΑΖΑΚΗΣ-ΕΠΑΜ» απόκλινε πάρα πολύ απο τις προσδοκίες που οι δυνάμεις αυτές-πέμπτη φάλαγγα- είχαν σχεδιάσει να εφαρμόσουν.

Στο άρθρο του Καζάκη απάντησε ο «Τάσος Πετρίδης, ιδρυτικό μέλος της Πανγαία και υπεύθυνος εκπαίδευσης» με ένα θολό κείμενο το οποίο όμως δεν κρύβει και λόγω προέλευσης του συντάκτη τις πραγματικές προθέσεις και λόγους της απάντησης.

Πρίν προχωρήσουμε ομως στην ανάλυση μας ας δούμε σφαιρικά τα στοιχεία τα οποία θα δώσουν την αληθινή διάσταση της εναντίον του Καζάκη αντιπαράθεσης.

While we have yet to go through the thousands of files that hacker collective Anonymous has just released as a result of its hack of the Greek Finance Ministry, an exploit it described as follows: «We gained full access to the Greek Ministry of Finance. Those funky IBM servers don’t look so safe now, do they… We have new guns in our arsenal. A sweet 0day SAP exploit is in our hands and oh boy we’re gonna sploit the hell out of it. Respectz to izl the dog for that perl candy,» what we find even more amusing, if not surprising, is that of the 136 username accounts Anonymous hacked, the password of precisely 50 of them, or some 37% of all workers, is…. 123456 (full list here).

That, together with this archival picture of the inside of the Athens Finance Ministry, explains much more about the current and future state of Greek affairs, than any idiotic Troika/IMF forecast ever could.

Διαδικασίες ελέγχου με αντικείμενο το ρωσικό γιγαντιαίο όμιλο φυσικού αερίου Gazprom ξεκίνησε η Κομισιόν, διατηρώντας υποψίες «παρεμποδίζει τον ανταγωνισμό στις αγορές φυσικού αερίου στην Κεντρική και Ανατολική Ευρώπη», όπως αναφέρει.

Συγκεκριμένα, η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή έχει υποψίες κυρίως για την Gazprom ότι «παρεμπόδισε τη διαφοροποίηση του εφοδιασμού με φυσικό αέριο» σε αυτές τις χώρες «και επιβάλλει στους πελάτες της αδικαιολόγητες τιμές φυσικού αερίου συνδέοντάς τις με την τιμή του πετρελαίου».

EU Launches Antirust Case Against Natural Gas Giant Gazpromia

When it comes to who controls Europe, the answer is simple – hint: it is not Goldman Sachs via its puppets Mario Monti or Mario Draghi. Nor is it Angela Merkel. No – the entity in charge of the continent of 300+ million is the nation-corporation known as Gazpromia, which also happens to be is the holding company of the new and somewhat improved USSR, aka Russia. Why? Because if Gazpromia decided to play the vengeful god role it is known to embrace now and then, it could simply shut down the gas pipeline to Europe and millions of people would realize that heating in deep subzero temperatures is far, far more important than having a (un)stable currency or wheelbarrows full of money. As such, it is always better to let sleeping gods lie. Oddly enough, Europe decided to not do that, and moments ago the WSJ and BBG reported that the EU has decided to bite the hand that warms it and has launched an antrust case against Gazprom.

Did Gazprom do any/all of this? Of course: monopolists can do anything they want. Keyword being monopolists. As a result those whose markets Gazprom supplied with all critical natural gas, which in Europe is everyone, must take it like it, or else. Because when it comes to threats, whereas Mario Draghi’s are absolutely hollow, and are merely perfected in the Goldman Sachs school of «what to do when you are not being taken seriously» (as practiced by that other Goldmanite Hank Paulson in the US 4 years ago), those from Gazprom, should the company decided to retaliate will mean the European winter will be not only depressionary, but very, very cold. And Europe may have just made sure of not only the former, but also the latter.

Antitrust: Commission opens proceedings against Gazprom

The European Commission has opened formal proceedings to investigate whether Gazprom, the Russian producer and supplier of natural gas, might be hindering competition in Central and Eastern European gas markets, in breach of EU antitrust rules. An opening of proceedings does not prejudge the outcome of the investigation; it only means that the Commission will treat the case as a matter of priority.

The Commission has concerns that Gazprom may be abusing its dominant market position in upstream gas supply markets in Central and Eastern European Member States, in breach of Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.

The Commission is investigating three suspected anti-competitive practices in Central and Eastern Europe. First, Gazprom may have divided gas markets by hindering the free flow of gas across Member States. Second, Gazprom may have prevented the diversification of supply of gas. Finally, Gazprom may have imposed unfair prices on its customers by linking the price of gas to oil prices.

Such behaviour, if established, may constitute a restriction of competition and lead to higher prices and deterioration of security of supply. Ultimately, such behaviour would harm EU consumers.

In September 2011, the Commission carried out inspections at the premises of gas companies in several Member States (see MEMO/11/641).

Background

Article 102 TFEU prohibits the abuse of a dominant position which may affect trade between Member States. The implementation of this provision is defined in the Antitrust Regulation (Council Regulation No 1/2003), which can be applied by the Commission and by the national competition authorities of EU Member States.

Article 11(6) of the Antitrust Regulation provides that the initiation of proceedings by the Commission relieves the competition authorities of the Member States of their competence to also apply EU competition rules to the practices concerned. Article 16(1) of the same Regulation provides that national courts must avoid giving decisions which would conflict with a decision contemplated by the Commission in proceedings it has initiated.

The Commission has informed Gazprom and the competition authorities of the Member States that it has opened proceedings in this case.

There is no legal deadline to complete inquiries into anti-competitive conduct. The duration of an antitrust investigation depends on a number of factors, including the complexity of the case, the extent to which the undertaking concerned cooperates with the Commission and the exercise of the rights of defence.

Greece and Turkey: Offensive and Defensive Balance of Air Power in 2012

The Greek and Turkish air forces are two of NATO’s strongest and most experienced. The chronic antagonism between the two neighboring states has meant that their pilots have received significant training as they have for decades often engaged in dogfights over the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Unlike planned exercises by NATO members, however, these dogfights have been deadly in the past and even risked a larger military showdown on several occasions.

The following detailed report will break down the inventory of the rival-but-allied air forces for 2012. This will also reveal that equilibrium of power has been established; the two countries have, both in quantitative and qualitative terms, reached an equal projection of air power, something that partly depends on the threat perceptions military planners have regarding different fronts. This dynamic is expected to remain as it is, at least for the mid-term, though pending acquisitions by Turkey could affect the balance in future. As with the case of India and Pakistan, an unwritten rule of preserving a balance of power has been set out by Western politicians and thus followed by industrial producers in Western countries.

All data presented below derives from official information gathered from the Greek and Turkish air fleet inventories, available in the archives of their respective military staffs and defense ministries.

Today, the Greek and Turkish air forces are considered to be among the best-trained and best-equipped in the world, along with (or after) those of the US, UK, Russia, Israel, France, China, India, Australia and South Korea.

The largest importer of major conventional weapons in
Europe in recent years has been Greece.
• Greece remains among the top five largest recipient of major conventional
weapons for 2005–2009, but has fallen from third place for 2000–2004.
The transfer of 26 F-16C from the USA and 25 Mirage-2000-9 combat
aircraft from France accounted for 38 per cent of the volume of Greek
imports. Greece is to proceed with the licensed production of 3 Type-214
submarines, despite problems in 2009 with payments for these
submarines to Germany.

Germany has become the world's third largest arms exporter, with many of its weapons, including this submarine, earmarked for Greece.

A Belgian deputy of Turkish origin in the Brussels Regional Parliament has defined the absence of an Islamic culture containing European elements as one of the main causes triggering xenophobia and Islamophobia, especially against the Muslim minority living in Europe, and has urged European authorities to take steps towards building up a European Islam which she thinks will accelerate the integration of Muslim immigrants in Europe.

According to Mahinur Özdemir, the most effective way to tackle religious radicalism in Europe and to fight extremism is to create a European Islam. “That would also pave the way for non-Muslim Europeans to have a closer look at Islam and get to know European Muslims better,” Özdemir told Today’s Zaman in an exclusive interview. She also expressed her hope that such an initiative accompanied by the expansion of tolerance in Europe would decrease the risk of religious confrontation “because it would result in providing people who have prejudices against Islam with a greater knowledge of the subject,” she emphasized. Özdemir underlined that just as Islamic principles have been introduced into different societies, some cultural aspects of these societies which do not contradict the basic pillars of the religion have also had an effect on how Muslims interpret Islam. The Turkish-Belgian deputy maintained that a European Islam would definitely help European decision-makers and facilitate the integration process of immigrants, most of whom are Muslim, into European society. “It will be more beneficial for Europe to have an Islam with a European approach rather than a Moroccan or Algerian-oriented Islam or an extremist view of Islam that creates the opportunity for radical organizations to attract more interest,” she said. A Belgian Muslim of Turkish origin, Özdemir said that she has encountered many Christian deputies in parliament who are keen to find answers to their questions on Islam and has had several conversations with her non-Muslim colleagues on the matter. “As a devout Muslim, which is visible because of my headscarf, they ask me questions about Islam,” she said, defining these conversations as a humble platform for cultural and religious dialog. Özdemir was the first headscarved deputy of any of the parliaments in Europe and was elected to the Brussels regional capital parliament in June 2009, an event which kicked off a controversial debate on secularism, the Muslim minority’s political rights and the political engagement of European Turks. Özdemir, the youngest member of the Brussels Regional Parliament, complained about the Turkish media’s increased interest in her after the election and said she does not want to appear in the news just because she wears a headscarf. “The media showed great interest in my election. It was unprecedented that at the opening of parliament, there were more reporters than deputies. This was because of my headscarf, and it is disturbing because I want to be mentioned for my work in parliament,” she said. The young politician voiced her criticism to Belgian reporters for not accepting her as a Belgian citizen. “At my inaugural ceremony, some of the local reporters in attendance told me that the headscarf is banned in ‘your country,’ referring to the headscarf ban in Turkish universities and Parliament. They were surprised when I told them my country is Belgium. This is my country.” She highlighted the inconsistency of European attitudes towards Turkey, arguing that most of the European secularists applauded the country’s critical stance on the headscarf; however, they also accuse Turkey of not being a democratic country, although secularism and democracy are not separate things. Commenting on the headscarf ban in Turkey’s universities she noted that for her the ban is not ethical. “The headscarf cannot prevent people from enjoying a human right — access to education. I hope this problem will be resolved as soon as possible,” she said.

The strategic and military ties between Greece and Israel are deepening in reverse proportion to Turkey’s estrangement from Israel and its growing closeness to Iran and Syria, DEBKAfile‘s military sources report. Significantly, when the commander of the Greek Navy, Vice Admiral G. Karamalikis secretly visited Israel earlier this month, he won the sort of red carpet which the Israel Defense Forces high command rarely gives foreign military visitors.

Israeli Navy chief Vice Adm. Eli Marum took him around Navy HQ in Haifa port plus unusual tours of the top-secret INS Dolphin Type 800 submarine and the Saar V class INS Eilat 501 corvette.

The Dolphin is ranked as Israel’s premier long-distance deterrent weapon and believed by Western military experts to carry nuclear-capable cruise missiles.

The Eilat was part of the Israeli submarine’s escort when it passed through the Suez Canal last June, starting out from the Mediterranean and heading to the Red Sea and back. Vice Adm. Marum accompanied the visitor and briefed him on the navy’s operational capabilities.

This demonstration focused on the vessels Israel has thrust to the fore in the last two years for Iran’s benefit, to display the extent of its long-distance military reach as far as Iran’s shorelines, the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea.

The military partnership between Israel and Greece is not new. In June 2008, their two air forces and navies conducted a joint war game, during which 100 Israeli fighter-bombers flew out from their bases as far as Greek skies and back, spanning a distance roughly equal to that between Israel and Iran. The exercise was meant to show Tehran the Israeli Air Force’s ability to cover the distance to Iran’s nuclear facilities and back. According to Western military sources, the maneuver included practice sorties by Israeli warplanes against Russian-made S-300 anti-missile missile batteries deployed by the Greek Army.
