Following are excerpts from an interview with Dr. Ahmad Al-Mu’bi, a Saudi marriage officiant, which aired on LBC TV on June 19, 2008.

Mature men are allowed to marry prepubescent girls in Islam.
The Quran in Sura 65:1, 4 says:
65:1 O Prophet, when you (and the believers) divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed waiting-period and count the waiting-period accurately . . . 4 And if you are in doubt about those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. As for pregnant women, their period ends when they have delivered their burden. (Maududi, vol. 5, pp. 599 and 617)
Maududi correctly interprets the plain meaning of verse 4, which appears in the context of divorce:
Therefore, making mention of the waiting-period for girls who have not yet menstruated, clearly proves that it is not only permissible to give away the girl at this age but it is permissible for the husband to consummate marriage with her. Now, obviously no Muslim has the right to forbid a thing which the Qur’an has held as permissible. (Maududi, vol. 5, p. 620, note)
Divorcing prepubescent girls implies marriage to them. So the fathers of prepubescent girls may give them away, and their new husbands may consummate their marriage with them. If Islam ever spread around the world, no one should be surprised if Quran-believing Muslims lowered the marriage age of girls to nine years old.

Iran: Civil Code provides that marriage contracted before puberty is invalid unless authorized by natural guardian with ward’s best interests in mind. When authorized before puberty, minimum age is nine. Marriages between Muslim women and non-Muslim men are not recognized
Palestinian Territories of West Bank and Gaza Strip: Gaza Strip- LFR 1954 required puberty and made 9 (female) and 12 (male) minimum ages; Palestinian Qadi al-Quda issued administrative decision in 1995 raising these to 15 female and 16 male.

» Προσφέρουμε αυτό το γάμο σα δώρο στο λαό μας που ατιμετωπίζει την πολιορκία και τον πόλεμο» σχολίασε ο ισχυρός άντρας της Χαμάς, Ibrahim Salaf.
Οι φωτογραφίες αυτής της γαμήλιας τελετής εξιστορούν αυτήν την ειδεχθή «ιστορία».
Tο Διεθνές Κέντρο Ερευνών για τις Γυναίκες εκτιμά ότι υπάρχουν περίπου 51 εκατομμύρια «αρραβωνιασμένα κοριτσάκια» στον κόσμο, το μεγαλύτερο ποσοστό των οποίων είναι σε μουσουλμανικές χώρες. Το 30% αυτών των μικρών αρραβωνιαστικών δέχονται βία από το σύζυγό τους. Κάθε 3 χρόνια, 3 εκατομμύρια αυτών των μικρών μουσουλμάνων υπόκεινται σε ακρωτηριασμούς.
Η άσκηση αυτής της παιδοφιλίας γίνεται με την υποστήριξη του Ισλαμ.
Επιπλέον, ο πιο γνωστός μουσουλμάνος, ο Ayatolah Khomeini υποστήριξε την άσκηση της παιδοφιλίας:
«Ένας άντρας μπορεί να αντλήσει σεξουαλική ικανοποίηση από ένα παιδί, ακόμη και από ένα μωρό. Ωστόσο, δε μπορεί να διεισδύσει κολπικά, αλλά… πρωκτικά : ΧΩΡΙΣ ΠΡΟΒΛΗΜΑ».
Αυτό δυστυχώς δεν αναφέρεται συχνά, και ο ΚΟΣΜΟΣ σωπαίνει ή δε θέλει να το κοιτάει. Ακόμη χειρότερα, δε θέλει να το ΞΕΡΕΙ.

The Turkish government has decided to donate 50,000 U.S. dollars to the Mongolian government to help Mongolian herdsmen who had suffered from extreme cold weather, Turkish Ambassador to Mongolia Asim Arar said Monday.
In addition, a Turkish military airplane loaded with blankets, clothes and foods will arrive in Ulan Bator on Tuesday, Arar said during meeting with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Miegombyn Enkhbold.
Enkhbold, who is also head of the State Emergency Commission, expressed gratitude to the Turkish side on behalf of the Mongolian government for the support.
Extreme cold weather has killed over 1.7 million livestock in Mongolia, according to official statistics.
Mongolia’s economy has been hard hit by the prolonged spell of extreme cold weather and heavy snow, with the southern province of Dundgobi being the hardest hit, a local official said.
Turkey provided assistance to Mongolia shortly after the country was hit by flooding in May 2009.
Islam in Mongolia is mainly practised by the ethnic Kazakhs of Bayan-Ölgii (88.7% of total aimag population) and Khovd (11.5% of total aimag population, living primarily in the Khovd city, Khovd sum and Buyant sum) aimag in western Mongolia. In addition, a number of small Kazakh communities can be found in various cities and towns spread throughout the country. Historically however, the majority of the Mongol elite during the Mongol Empire generally favored Islam over other faiths as three of the four major khanates adopted Islam.[1]
The European Central Bank’s dogmatic hardline euro policy, at a time of severe recession, is responsible not only for Greece’s loss of competitiveness, which led to the twin deficits, but also for a really bad European export performance. This has been reduced by $109.1bn (€78.3bn) in the past 12 months. The recession is seriously testing the euro.
Greece is a small part of the euro area, 2.7%, with roughly 3.9% of euro-area public debt. It is indeed in serious trouble, and various domestic factors, such as its rigid product markets, its tremendous public waste and, above all, its incompetent political elite, have offered plenty of room for extended international discontent. However, Greek GDP declined by 1.1% in 2009, from 2.9% in 2008, less than the average fall in the euro area, and much less than that of some countries. Also, the rise in the debt-GDP ratio for Greece from 2007 to 2011 will be 39.8% points – bad, you may say. But compare it with the UK’s 44% points, Ireland’s 71.1% points, Spain’s 37.9% points, and the US’s 35.7% points. Not quite the tragedy some people allude to!
As for the risk of bankruptcy, which many believe may lead to an exit from the euro area, the current level of Greek indebtedness in both the private and public sectors is already comparable to those of the euro area countries. According to IMF data, Greece’s average total indebtedness, private and public, is about 179% of GDP. The EU’s average is 175%; Belgium’s 219%; Ireland’s 222%; Italy’s 194%; the Netherlands’ 234%; Portugal’s 197%; and Spain’s 207% – all well above Greece’s figure. Greece has more public than private debt. But this is only due to the inability of the state mechanism to collect taxes from the privileged – in particular, money that goes to luxurious imports and overconsumption. Direct taxes amount to about 20% of GDP, compared with the EU’s 26% average. A simple increase could bring in ¤16bn annually, and restrict significantly the spreads on Greek bonds and the public borrowing needs.
